House of Piano and Gitanada Music Society are delighted to present Calvin Abdiel: Visions & Transformations, a special solo piano recital featuring one of Indonesia’s promising young pianists ahead of his journey to the international stage.

Fresh from passing the preliminary round of the prestigious Franz Liszt International Piano Competition 2026, Calvin Abdiel will present an inspiring recital celebrating the virtuosity, poetry, and expressive depth of piano repertoire. The program features works by Franz Liszt, including Au bord d'une source, Les Jeux d'eaux à la Villa d'Este, Réminiscences de Don Juan, Légende No. 2, and the monumental Sonata in B minor.

Calvin Abdiel is an award-winning young pianist whose achievements include winning the 27th Mauro Paolo Monopoli Prize in Barletta, Italy, as well as the Ananda Sukarlan Award International Piano Competition and recognition from the Sydney International Piano Competition.

For this special recital, Calvin will perform on the Boston Performance II Grand Piano, known for its rich tonal character and expressive qualities reminiscent of the renowned Steinway sound. The combination of Calvin’s artistry, Liszt’s virtuosic repertoire, and the character of this exceptional instrument promises an unforgettable musical experience.

Held at the historic A.A. Maramis Building in Jakarta, the recital offers audiences an opportunity to experience the dramatic and poetic world of Liszt within the timeless elegance and unique atmosphere of one of Jakarta’s heritage venues.

Held on Sunday, 13 September 2026, at Wyndham Casablanca Jakarta, the competition brought together young musicians for a meaningful opportunity to step onto the stage, showcase their abilities, and experience the excitement of performing in a competitive setting. My First Piano Competition Throughout the competition, the participants performed on the Pearl River GP-188 Grand Piano, bringing their musical interpretations and individuality to life through each performance. From the anticipation of stepping onto the stage to the confidence gained through performing, every moment reflected the dedication and enthusiasm of these young musicians.  My First Piano Competition More than a competition, My First Piano Competition created a meaningful platform for children to build confidence, gain valuable performance experience, and continue developing their musical abilities.
