Yesterday’s Steinway Enrichment Session offered a refreshing and thought-provoking discussion on how piano competitions can be approached from a healthier and more meaningful perspective. The session highlighted not only the technical and artistic aspects of competitions, but also their educational value—especially for piano teachers guiding students through the process.
Many insightful thoughts were shared on how competitions can become tools for growth, motivation, and musical development rather than sources of pressure alone. The discussion resonated strongly with fellow educators who are constantly balancing pedagogy, student well-being, and performance goals.
Thank you to everyone who joined and contributed to this engaging session. We look forward to seeing you again in the upcoming Indonesia Steinway Youth Piano Competition
